In the year 952 of the Cartlan Era, in the northern reaches of the Central Continent, the Demon King Kroding, along with the Four Heavenly Kings of the demon race, led the Demon Army in an assault on the Kingdom of Cartlan. As the war reached a stalemate, the human hero Zhide Dofen single-handedly stormed the Demon King’s fortress, vanquishing the Four Heavenly Kings and slaying the Demon King Kroding. Zhide had believed this would bring the war between humans and demons to an end, but trouble soon piled upon trouble—forcing him to confront the dark secrets lurking behind the Kingdom of Cartlan.
