"Ino Ino" (which translates to an exclamation like "Oh! Oh!") is a deeply reflective song. It tells the story of someone who suddenly realizes they’ve been heading down the wrong track in life. That "Ino Ino" moment is the wake-up call. The realization that it’s time to stop, turn around, and make a U-turn toward a better future.
Whether it's about life choices, relationships, or personal growth, we’ve all had an "Ino Ino" moment where we had to start over.
For those who don't know the history, Helgas Band is a powerhouse from the Gabadi region in the Kairiku District (Central Province).
They were among the very first bands to record with the legendary CHM Supersound back in the early 1980s.
The band is famous for the iconic, soaring harmonies of lead vocalists Glenda Gaoma and Tau Oala.
While they’ve been active since the 70s, they’ve stayed true to their traditional stringband roots, making them a cornerstone of PNG musical heritage.
I’m doing this cover because these songs are the foundation of our music industry. I want to make sure our youth aren't just listening to the beat. I want to make surr that they are hearing the wisdom in the lyrics.
