Cineplex journey begins in Rajshahi, movies will run 7 days a week in the morning and afternoon
Star Cineplex started its journey in education city Rajshahi. Visitors can watch local and foreign movies on modern screens at the city's Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hi-Tech Park. At the inauguration of Cineplex, a fair of stars and veteran politicians was held in Shikshanagari.
Seven cinema halls were very popular in Rajshahi city till the nineties. After 2010, AKA the theaters started closing down when the film recession started. The 'Upahar' cinema hall was finally closed in 2018. Since then, the audience was missing a cinema hall of modern standards in the city.
But this time the dissatisfaction of the audience has started to show. Star Cineplex started its journey in Rajshahi. The total seats are 172 in Cineplex at Jai Silicon Tower in Hitech Park. Mahbub Rahman Ruhel, chairman of Star Cineplex, says that the audience can enjoy domestic and foreign movies with all the facilities of a world-class cinema hall with aesthetic environment, sound system with latest technology, giant screen. Cineplex has also opened the doors of relaxation and entertainment with technology throughout the day, said Information Minister Hasan Mahmud.
Popular star Azmeri Haque Bandhan and ICT State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak attended the opening ceremony of Cineplex. They say that this state-of-the-art cinema hall will be one of the centers of entertainment for the audience.
Viewers say that Cineplex can fulfill the lack of watching movies of Rajshahi residents to some extent. Also, the audience thinks that this state-of-the-art cineplex will play a big role in healthy entertainment practices.
Avatar-The Way of Water movie was shown on the opening day. Separate ticket prices have been fixed for noon and afternoon seven days a week.
