Nobita and his father make a purchase of a large rhinoceros beetle, and Nobita commits to taking good care of it. Later, while exploring a mysterious island, Doraemon's team encounters a tribe living alongside prehistoric creatures once thought to be extinct. The creatures are being protected by a legendary beetle spirit known as Golden Hercules. However, the team is forced to confront a gang of criminals from the future who plan to profit by capturing Golden Hercules.
