Rather than just being a place where you dump hundreds of credits and maybe walk away with one prize if you're lucky, this claw machine arcade at the Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, New Jersey has a bad luck guarantee. If you buy $10 worth of tokens, spend them all, and still haven't won yourself a prize, you can pick out one prize of your choice from the small claw machines to your right. $20 and still no luck? You can get two small prizes, or one from the larger machines. It's a great way to ensure that everyone goes home happy. But with $20 to split between the three of us, we didn't even need the pity prizes! The claws are set to be very fair, and we each ended up winning one prize from a large claw machine -- and still had tokens left over to play some old-school arcade games on their multicade machine!
