Rush Hour (1998) is an action-comedy about an unlikely cop duo racing against time to save a kidnapped girl.
• The Problem: The daughter of a Chinese diplomat is kidnapped in Los Angeles.
• The Duo: Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan), a serious martial arts expert from Hong Kong, is brought in to help. The FBI wants him out of the way, so they pair him with Detective James Carter (Chris Tucker), a loudmouthed LAPD cop meant to just "babysit" him.
• The Twist: Despite clashing over cultural differences, the two realize they are being sidelined. They team up, use their unique styles—Lee's fighting skills and Carter's street smarts—to take down a major crime lord, save the girl, and become best friends.
