ALL SOULS — A PRAYER FOR THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED
On All Souls’ Day, the Church turns her heart toward those who have died in God’s grace but who still undergo purification before entering the fullness of Heaven.
This song is a musical prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory—our parents, grandparents, relatives, friends, and all those who have gone before us. Their journey is not one of despair, but of purification and hope, as they are prepared for the perfect joy of the presence of God.
The Church has always encouraged the faithful to pray for the dead. The Book of Maccabees reminds us of the ancient practice of offering prayers and sacrifices for those who have died, recognizing the hope of the resurrection.
“It was a holy and pious thought.” — 2 Maccabees 12:45
Today we remember that death does not end our love for one another. Through prayer, the Holy Mass, sacrifices, and acts of charity, we can lovingly assist the souls who await their entrance into the glory of Heaven.
May this song inspire you to remember those who have died and to pray:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
🕯️ Pray for the Holy Souls.
🙏 Offer a Mass for someone who has died.
❤️ Remember that one day we too will stand before God.
