Relationships: Dharma at Home and in the Hearts Around Us | Dharma in Real Life, Lesson 5 📝 Description: The hardest and best training ground isn't a forest. It's your home, your work, and your relationships. In this lesson we learn from the Buddha's advice to young Sigala on honoring the six directions: parents, teachers, spouse and children, friends, those in our care, and spiritual guides. Every relationship carries responsibilities on both sides. We look at gratitude, while also acknowledging the hard truth that some people were hurt by those who should have protected them. We cover the four false friends and the four true friends, and five principles for speaking: true, helpful, kind in intent, gentle, and well timed. And remember: the person who irritates you most may be your best teacher. 💡 The idea to keep with you: The best temple for training the heart is your own home. And the best teacher is the person who irritates you most. ✅ Try this today: Choose one person close to you and, once today, listen to them fully, without interrupting, teaching, or solving their problems. Before saying something that might cause conflict, check the five principles: true, helpful, kind in intent, gentle, and well timed. When someone at home irritates you, silently say, 'Thank you, teacher,' and see what the irritation is teaching you. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📚 From the series: Dharma in Real Life (Lesson 5/9) 🎓 All episodes at: prommart.dev #Relationships #Family #Dharma #Mindfulness
