Welcome to another digital painting lesson! 🎨
Small details can completely change the way a landscape painting feels. From tiny branches and leaves to rocks, grass, distant buildings, and subtle texture, the right details can make a scene feel more natural, interesting, and alive.
In this video, I'll show you how I approach small details in a landscape painting without getting lost in every little thing I see in the reference.
🎥 In This Video:
- Choosing which small details are worth painting
- Using details to add depth, texture, and atmosphere
- Adding small accents without overworking the painting
💡 Details Should Support the Painting:
Good landscape paintings aren't about painting every single detail. The goal is to understand which details actually help the viewer experience the scene.
A few well-placed shapes, textures, and accents can communicate much more than trying to copy everything in your reference. Knowing when to add detail and when to leave things simple is what keeps a painting clear and interesting.
