An 18-year-old kept repeating the same thing: he didn’t pull the trigger. But detectives had evidence that told a different story.
Early on June 28, 2019, a car dealership in Ocala, Florida, was broken into. A lockbox was smashed, vehicle keys disappeared, and a blue Toyota Camry was stolen before sunrise.
Hours later, that same Camry appeared near the Ivy Lane apartments in Orlando. Two masked men stepped out. Moments later, a gunshot rang out, and George Dallas Jr. was fatally wounded outside the apartment complex. The Camry sped away and was later abandoned nearby.
It looked like the suspects had made a clean getaway. But they had left something behind.
A phone was dropped at the dealership during the theft.
Detectives followed the digital trail. Phone records, surveillance footage, fingerprints, and blood evidence inside the stolen Camry slowly began connecting the pieces. That trail led investigators to Miguel Bush and Chasewan Allen.
When Miguel entered the interrogation room, his story began to change.
First, he said he had only walked past the car. Then he claimed he had never been inside it. Later, he admitted he had ridden in the vehicle.
But investigators had evidence that challenged each version.
Cuts on his hands. Blood inside the Camry. Surveillance footage placing the stolen vehicle near the shooting.
The more detectives revealed, the harder it became to explain the contradictions.
Miguel Bush was eventually charged with first-degree murder and robbery with a firearm. He later accepted a plea deal for second-degree murder and received a 14-year prison sentence. Chasewan Allen accepted a 17-year sentence.
What started with a stolen car ended in a murder investigation—and one small mistake helped detectives connect the dots.
Because stories can change. But evidence leaves a trail.
