At 2 AM, behind locked doors in New Delhi, India's Prime Minister Indira Gandhi gathered her Army Chief, RAW chief and top ministers for a meeting even her own staff didn't know about. The plan: open a new front on the Siachen Glacier – the coldest, highest battlefield on Earth.
In Episode 01 of our Siachen series, we go inside that secret briefing: Russian pressure, General M. L. Chibber's long-held ambition, Colonel Kumar's chilling report on surviving at 21,000 feet, and an Army Chief who knew the true cost but couldn't say no.
This is the untold story of the men who faced an enemy and a frozen hell at the same time.
