Jake Gyllenhaal auditioned for Lord Of The Rings, but Peter Jackson absolutely destroyed him.
Jake's agents were convinced he was the perfect Frodo. So he went in confident with zero prep.
First, Jake had to discover the Ring without saying a word.
He awkwardly opened a chest up and asked if that was good.
Jackson facepalmed.
Then Jake delivered the lines. In his normal American accent. Jackson told him he was the worst actor he had ever seen.
Turns out, Frodo was supposed to sound British.
Nobody had told Jake.
Jackson’s advice? “Fire your agents.”
