In 1974, a nineteen-year-old Steve Jobs travelled to a small ashram in the
Kumaon hills of northern India to become the student of a man named Neem
Karoli Baba. He arrived a year after the man had died.
Three decades later, Jobs told Mark Zuckerberg to go to the same place.
This is the documented version of a story that gets told badly almost
everywhere — what the record actually shows, what both men actually said,
and what a man who never wrote a book left behind in the founding stories

FOUR THINGS THIS FILM CORRECTS
- Zuckerberg told this story at a Menlo Park town hall on 27 September
2015 — not at the Harvard commencement in 2017.
- His visit was in Facebook's early years, during the pressure to sell the
company. 2015 is when he described it, not when he went.
- He has never linked the trip to the News Feed, to any algorithm, or to
any product decision. His account is about mission.
- Jobs never met Neem Karoli Baba. Neem Karoli Baba died on 11 September
1973, at Vrindavan.
