This song honors Our Lady of Sorrows, contemplating the profound love and holy sorrow of the Blessed Virgin Mary as she accompanied Jesus throughout His Passion.
Mary's sorrow was not despair. It was the sorrow of a mother who loved perfectly and witnessed the suffering caused by sin. Standing beneath the Cross, she remained faithful, united in heart with her divine Son.

Each sorrow became a deeper expression of Mary's love and trust in God.
When Simeon told her that a sword would pierce her heart, Mary accepted God's mysterious plan. When Jesus was lost in Jerusalem, she searched for Him. When He walked toward Calvary, she followed. And when He was crucified, she stood faithfully beneath His Cross.
Mary did not respond to suffering with hatred or despair. Her sorrow became compassion—a willingness to suffer with her Son and to pray for the very sinners whose sins had brought Him to the Cross.
This is the great lesson of Our Lady of Sorrows: our suffering, too, can become an offering of love when united with Christ.
Instead of allowing sorrow to turn our hearts inward, Mary teaches us to bring our pain to Jesus and allow His grace to transform it.
Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.
Mother beneath the Cross, pray for us.
Mother of compassion, pray for us.
Lead us always to Jesus Christ.
