There is a moment, right before the alarm goes off, when the weight of everything finds you first. The bills. The decisions you do not know how to make. The responsibilities that feel too heavy for one person to carry. The quiet, persistent feeling that something is missing — and that today, just like yesterday, you are going to have to figure it all out alone.
If that is where you woke up this morning, you need to hear this: you did not arrive here by accident. And the weight you are carrying was never meant to be yours alone.
This morning prayer is built on the most beloved Psalm ever written — Psalm 23. Six verses that have crossed thousands of years, survived empires, been whispered in hospital rooms and prison cells and dark nights of the soul, and arrived here, this morning, for you. Not because they are beautiful poetry — though they are. But because they carry a truth so foundational, so structurally different from everything the world tells you about how to survive, that when you finally understand it, something in you shifts permanently.
