My brain was jumping from one thing to another: Where did I drop it? Should I go back? What if someone finds it? Wait, is that a new pothole? Did I lock the gate this morning? Look at that sunset. I'm hungry. Focus. Stop thinking about the phone. Just ride.
But that's the thing about riding — it's the only moment my mind slows down. Even with ADHD, even with the chaos, when I twist the throttle, everything else fades. The road forces you to be present. You can't drift off when you're leaning into a curve at 100 km/h.
Empty roads. No cars. No noise. Just me and the R15.
I didn't find my phone. But I found something better — clarity. A reminder that sometimes losing something forces you to gain perspective.
