"Bardagen" refers to an ancient Norse psychological warfare tactic: hundreds of warriors striking their weapons against their shields in unison, forming the skjaldborg (shield wall) and unleashing a deafening, synchronized roar. This sound was designed to shatter the enemy's morale before a single blow was struck — while forging the warband itself into one unified force of fury. This 15-minute instrumental piece is a sonic reconstruction of that ritual — dark ambient percussion, war drums, and the low thunder of shield and steel, with no vocals and no melodic instruments. Just raw, ritualistic sound.
