Dhaka District Administrator stopped the students; Dr. Zubaida Rahman praised them.
In this video, a group of young innovator students from Dhaka city are presenting their 'Smart Bin' system. They have developed this project with the aim of using technology to solve Bangladesh's waste management problems.
Key Features of the Project:
Automatic Waste Segregation: When waste is brought near the Smart Bin, it automatically opens using built-in sensors. Additionally, it can separately identify and store wet waste, dry waste, and metal waste.
Rewards and Financial Incentives: Users can earn rewards or money by scanning a QR code when they dispose of waste in the Smart Bin.
Government Monitoring System: A central admin website has been created for the government, where it is possible to see in a live map how many Smart Bins are in the city, where they are located, and how much waste has accumulated at each location.
Waste Recycling: The system includes technology for grinding and melting collected plastic waste to make it reusable, as well as converting organic waste into rapid compost fertilizer.
Through their innovation, the team presents a sustainable model for keeping the city clean and generating economic benefits from waste.
