This video showcases a live demonstration from the first EV Fire Workshop in Latin America, held in Mafra, Brazil, in December 2024. With over 250 industry professionals in attendance, the event focused on the challenges of lithium-ion battery fires and the effectiveness of the Fire Isolator Concept in fighting EV car fires.
What’s in the video?
• Triggering Thermal Runaway in an NMC battery pack
• Deployment of the Fire Isolator car fire blanket (ISO EN 13501-1 A1, NFPA 701 certified) to contain the fire
• The use of a Watermist Lance to cool and reduce toxic fumes
• Application of Aerosol Units to suppress the flames
• Fire containment with temperatures dropping below 200°C (390°F) for over 30 minutes
• Total control over the fire and the situation
This demonstration highlights the effect of the Fire Isolator Concept to control EV battery fires and minimize risks.
