Unlike traditional EV firefighting methods that rely on large volumes of water applied externally, the EV Fire Gun addresses the problem from the inside. By delivering up to 40 liters of water per minute at 2 bar directly into the battery casing, the tool effectively cools the lithium-ion cells internally and helps mitigate thermal runaway.
The Fire Isolator EV Fire Gun battery penetration technology enables rapid and effective cooling of overheated battery cells. By creating an internal flow of water, cooling of the affected area can be reached, preventing propagation, which is the chain reaction from a thermal runaway in one cell to another.
Internal cooling significantly reduces the risk of fire spread, escalation, and re-ignition, which are common challenges in EV battery fires.
