Wen Nian is an antique restorer whose fiancé, Fu Qingzhou, dies in a car accident before their wedding. Refusing to accept his death as a simple tragedy, she enters the Fu family’s company under the excuse of completing Qingzhou’s unfinished painting, Autumn Mountains Seeking the Way. Her real goal is to get close to Fu Chenzhou - Qingzhou’s twin brother - and uncover what really happened. iQIYI lists Ye Wen as both Fu Chenzhou and Fu Qingzhou, and Fang Sichang as Wen Nian.
Fu Chenzhou hates Wen Nian from the start, convinced she caused his brother’s death. He humiliates her, tests her, and tries to push her out of the Fu family’s world. But the more time Wen Nian spends with him, the more impossible details she notices: the way he spins a pen three times, taps the side of a cup, and carries an old scar on his left hand - all habits that belonged to Qingzhou. What begins as an investigation into her fiancé’s death turns into a dangerous emotional trap, because the man who despises her may be hiding the truth she has been grieving all along.
