Story:
One summer day, the Nohara family heads to Akita Prefecture to visit Hiroshi's hometown and family home. Excited for their long-awaited trip and the local fireworks festival, they spend a peaceful time at Grandpa Ginnosuke's house.
However, the morning after arriving in Akita, a mysterious incident occurs!
The room where Shinnosuke and his family were staying is suddenly covered with flyers advertising "Obake-shon Village" (Yokai Vacation Village). Shinnosuke is thrilled by the promise of "all-you-can-eat Chocobi snacks!", and persuades the family to visit the attraction.
As they travel deeper into the remote mountains, they become lost in a strange and mysterious realm...
It turns out to be the entrance to the Land of Yokai, a forbidden world where humans are not allowed to enter!
While wandering through the Yokai Kingdom, Hiroshi and Misae are exposed as humans. As a result, their oshiri-dama are accidentally stolen, causing them to transform into yokai themselves!
But that's not all.
According to legend, those who lose their oshiri-dama don't just become yokai—they gradually lose all memories of their human lives. Worse yet, if they fail to recover their oshiri-dama by the Hour of the Rat (around midnight) the following day, they will never be able to become human again!
The Nohara family now faces the greatest crisis in its history!
Can Shinnosuke and his friends recover the stolen oshiri-dama and return safely to the human world?
A mysterious summer adventure begins as the Nohara family encounters a colorful cast of yokai in this magical new story!
