In this climactic chapter of the Nod-Krai storyline, the Traveler and their allies prepare to confront the Rächer of Solnari, a formidable foe also known as Rerir, one of the infamous Five Sinners of Khaenri'ah.
The quest begins with the borderlands rescue team regrouping at their base, joined by key allies including Varka, Dainsleif, Albedo, the dragon Durin (now in human form), and the enigmatic Moon Maiden Columbina. Together, they forge a battle plan to stop the Lunar Avenger from bringing further harm to Nod-Krai.
With the help of the seer Nefer, the party undergoes a sacred ritual to delve into Rerir's memories, journeying back to the era of Khaenri'ah's fall. Through an innovative chess-like simulation mechanic, players uncover the tragic past of the Five Sinners, witnessing the fate of Rerir's beloved Tholindis—a loss that transformed him into the vengeful being he is today.
The act concludes with a climactic confrontation against Rerir himself, requiring all the strength the Traveler has gathered throughout their journey in Nod-Krai. Following the battle, players witness the aftermath as Seamus Pegg (Jean and Barbara's father) departs from Varka's expedition for personal reasons, marking a significant lore development for Mondstadt characters.
