Today we decided to cook a delicious steak in the village.
Early in the morning, I went to the butcher and bought a large cut of meat.
My mother prepared the meat while my sister gathered mountain potatoes from our land.
We made homemade pickles with cauliflower and chili peppers, preserved in vinegar.
Then we churned yogurt in a clay pot to make fresh local butter the traditional way.
The steak was tenderized with a stone and cooked on a hot saj with freshly made butter.
Mashed potatoes were prepared alongside it, simply seasoned with salt and pepper.
At the end, we enjoyed steak, mashed potatoes, fresh buttermilk, and warm village lavash together.
