On a tour bus at 5:05 AM, May sits quietly by the window, pretending to listen to music to avoid an awkward conversation with Christ (also called Jace), who sits beside her. Just as he tries to engage her again, a tall, quiet man named Bryan walks down the aisle and unexpectedly sits beside May, claiming to be her boyfriend to deter Christ.
Christ backs off and leaves, confused and embarrassed. May, surprised, admits to Bryan that she made up the boyfriend lie to escape the unwanted attention. Bryan reveals he overheard the earlier conversation and played along to help her out. The two share a moment of mutual understanding, introducing themselves properly for the first time.
