Boiling Life (沸腾人生, 2022) is a Chinese industrial drama that follows the development of the country’s automobile industry over 30 years, centering on the struggles and dedication of a new generation of workers.
Synopsis
Set in the mid-1980s, the story begins when a group of college graduates arrives at a struggling automobile factory in northwest China for their internship. The factory is on the brink of collapse, with many of its technical backbones leaving to join competitors.
The plot focuses on Ai Changan (played by Han Dongjun), a young technician, and Shen Xia (played by Kan Qingzi), a graduate who initially planned to study abroad but decided to stay after witnessing the development of the factory's new 7-ton truck. Together, they represent a new generation committed to revitalizing the factory and upholding the "Third Front Spirit" of dedication and hard work.
