The action begins six months after Aya's death. Her older sister Ako is training to become a nurse, and soon Haruto becomes a neurologist and starts working at the hospital where Aya was treated. However, his longing for her is immense, and he begins to lose himself in pain and despair. One day, she meets Mizuki (played by Okamoto Anri), a 14-year-old girl who has completely given up on any hope. Her irony and fatigue from the illness cause Haruto to open up and slowly introduce the little patient to the aspects of his beloved's life.
