This is the reason I fell in love with this lens. Thanks to SIGMA Thailand EC MALL for organizing the "Touch and Try" Event on 18th October 2025. I got to play with a lot of lenses and understood how the compare to my Sony G Master lenses. I explain what I felt after reviewing the photos. Exceptional lens.
Initial impressions on Sigma 200mm F2.0 DG OS:
AF:
Blazing fast! Almost always nailed on the eyes. Haven't tried it for sports, so no comments on that. For portraits, it works fantastic!
Highlight roll-off:
Beautiful and pleasing.
Background Bokeh:
Bokeh is smoother than butter and background is obliterated.
Sharpness:
Super sharp even with my 61MP sensor.
Colors:
Punchy, Contrasty and just beautiful!
Chromatic Aberration:
It is there but very minimal - You will have to search for it.
Ghosting:
Slight ghosting at F2.0.
Weight:
For the output, I couldn't put this lens down. It is heavy but the images are beautiful.
Overall verdict:
If you think you need it, you should get it. Haha.. Excellent lens!
