Cathay Pacific plane flies past Hong Kong’s Kai Tak once again

The first recorded flight departed from Kai Tak in 1925, and over 70 years later, the airport moved to a new location at Chek Lap Kok. The area has been redeveloped into Kai Tak Sports Park, a multipurpose sporting and entertainment event complex. Kai Tak Stadium hosted its first Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament, which wrapped up on the same day as the Cathay flight on March 30, 2025.
