Beh Bote Nga was a hit Filipino sitcom that aired on GMA Network from March 9, 1999, to April 16, 2003, as part of the GMA KiliTV block. The title is a playful twist on Beh Buti Nga, a sarcastic way of saying âBleh, good for you!â The show followed the misadventures of Kot (Janno Gibbs) and Tot (Anjo Yllana), two struggling garbagemen always short on rent and constantly bullied by their rivals. Their lives take a wild turn when they stumble upon an old bottle, thinking they can sell it for quick cashâonly to find out thereâs a clumsy genie inside! Enter Goyong (Steven Claude Goyong), a not-so-great wish-granter who messes up their three wishes. Turns out, heâs just an assistant, and the real genie, G (G Toengi), isnât much better.
Meanwhile, their uncle Tio Pot (Joey de Leon) comes back home after losing his job as a seaman because of his sexuality. At first, people are shocked, but they welcome him with open arms, and he even opens his own beauty salon, Salon Gonisa. As if things werenât chaotic enough, another genie, Fer (Anne Curtis), shows upâexcept sheâs more focused on becoming human than actually granting wishes. Through all the crazy and hilarious moments, Kot and Tot eventually reunite with their long-lost father, proving that even with all the magic (and mess-ups), family is what really matters. After its successful run, Beh Bote Nga was eventually replaced by Nuts Entertainment on GMA.
The show also had a catchy theme song during its first season in 1999, composed by Rene Garcia & Dennis Garcia, with re-lyrics by Janno Gibbs and Chito Francisco, re-arranged by Mel Villena, and performed by Janno Gibbs and Anjo Yllana. After its successful run, Beh Bote Nga was eventually replaced by Nuts Entertainment on GMA.
