One Sports - Lupang Hinirang at the opening match of the FIBA World Cup [25-AUG-2023]

THIS IS OUR MOMENT. The national anthem is played during the opening match of our very own Gilas PILIPINAS vs. Dominican Republic. The version used is performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra commissioned by the International Olympic Committee for the Olympic Games in 2012. It was first heard when Hidilyn Diaz won the 55kg weightlifting category at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. This particular arrangement is widely used in all major and multi-sporting events (except football in which another version that is fast is being used on matches when the Philippines plays against its opponents).
