However, as they grew older, their family started to view their friendship negatively. Song Yan and Xu Qin were forced apart by their families because they were unwilling to let their romance progress any further. They would never again cross paths. Song Yan and Xu Qin have each put in a lot of effort to create the lives they've always desired in the ten years after their forced separation.
