Tsuneo Suzukawa, a university student with a passion for diving and marine biology, works multiple part-time jobs to save enough money to study abroad. However, one fateful night, he has a chance encounter with a girl named Kumiko, who prefers to go by Josee, who uses a wheelchair. This unexpected meeting alters Tsuneo's plans and sends him down a different path. At first, Josee comes across as rude, but after Tsuneo speaks with her grandmother, he agrees to take a paid job as Josee's caregiver. Despite feeling frustrated with her bossy attitude, Tsuneo sees an opportunity to save more money for his academic ambitions.
