The plot revolves around Li Zhi, the son of a wealthy family, who is unable to engage in a normal romantic relationship due to a Tong curse placed on his family. Zeng Xiaoyu, a beauty salon employee, obtains an exorcism ribbon from a sorcerer named Shen Cihang to break the taboo. Li Zhi's mother attempts to transfer the evil spirit into Xiaoyu's body by falsely claiming that Xiaoyu has a terminal illness. A crisis erupts when the evil spirit goes on a rampage at their wedding ceremony. Ultimately, the couple, aided by their telepathic connection and the protection of their ancestors, vanquish the evil spirit and break the family curse. The film interweaves subplots of mother-in-law and daughter-in-law conflicts and Tong magic, combining horror scenes reminiscent of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" with the style of Hong Kong comedy.
