I was really looking forward to this movie especially after seeing that Daniel Bruhl was in it and what a good job he did in RUSH ! It looked promising about a sport that I grew up following and watching in the late 70s and early 80s in the UK !
Well my hopes were dashed like a rollover in the last stage of the RAC rally !
It is really like a home made movie in some parts and the drama acting / dialogue is pitiful ! Daniel Bruhl is wasted on this and I think it is his name and star power that will get eyeballs on this movie that's all - but a lot of fans like me will be disappointed see the other reviews.
The car testing footage is like it was done on a dirt road in someone's back yard - its just so fake ! They use some old stock footage and if you know the real drivers of that era - you can spot them.
The reenacted crowd scenes of the rallies are cringeworthy - worse than a soap !
God only knows what they spent the 70 Million budget on - seriously How !
Oh and don't get me started on the pronunciation of some of the rally drivers names by the actor interviewing Cesare Fiorio on the couch - Michele Mouton in particular - one of the BEST drivers ever !
