In Space, Flames Are SPHERES 🔵 (No Up, No Teardrop)

Light a candle in space, and the flame forgets how to be a teardrop. In microgravity there is no up — hot air has nowhere to rise to, so it spreads evenly in every direction, and oxygen reaches the flame only by slow diffusion. The result is a floating blue sphere, soot-free and slow-burning. Astronauts saw exactly this aboard China's Tiangong station in September 2023, when they lit a candle during a live lesson for students. NASA saw the same thing years earlier: its FLEX experiment on the space station burned tiny fuel droplets, and each one was wrapped in a perfect spherical flame. Same fire, different gravity, completely different shape. Gravity doesn't just hold you down — it sculpts every flame you've ever seen. #Science #Space #NASA #HowItWorks #KLYPS
