The Ordinary Jackpot (literal title: Lotto Winner Also Goes to Work) is a 10-episode 2026 South Korean workplace comedy-drama directed and written by Yoon Young-bin. Produced by CJ ENM Studios and Bon Factory, it is adapted from a popular Naver web novel by Seo In-ha.
The series subverts typical lottery fantasy tropes by presenting a realistic, slice-of-life "wellow" look into corporate survival, office politics, and personal empowerment.
📖 The Detailed Plot
Gong Eun-tae is the youngest head of Sales Team 5 at Hongseong International, a major apparel brand. He has spent his entire life working relentlessly just to maintain a normal, stable routine. However, he falls into a deep existential slump, realizing his tireless hard work has left him heavily burnt out and unappreciated.
His life takes a dramatic pivot when he hits the first-prize lottery jackpot, winning 1.3 billion won (approximately $800,000 to $900,000 USD). While it is a massive windfall, Eun-tae quickly realizes that in Seoul's expensive economic climate, 1.3 billion won is not quite enough to buy a house and completely retire for the rest of his life.
Instead of quitting, he shows up for work the very next morning. He treats the money sitting in his bank account as his ultimate "mental insurance". Because he no longer fears the financial consequences of getting fired, his attitude completely transforms. Armed with this sudden psychological safety net, Eun-tae becomes fearless—boldly calling out toxic microaggressions, speaking truth to powerful executives, and shaking up the rigid, unfair office hierarchy.
