🌺 “Queen of the Night”, Mexico 🇲🇽

Queen of the Night” is a name used for several cactus species in the genus Selenicereus, known for flowers that open after dark. Their huge white blooms may last only a few hours before closing in the morning. 🌙 Blooming can happen just once a year, and the flowers release a strong fragrance to attract nighttime pollinators, especially bats and large moths. 🌵 After pollination, some species produce colorful edible fruits. A spectacular flower for one night, followed by a much longer lasting reward.
