They Opened the Door? What Is an IPO?

0 Lượt xem1 ngày trước

For years the bakery was a private club. You could hear about it. You could not buy a slice. Then they opened the door. That opening has a name: IPO — initial public offering. The first time a company sells shares to the public in a registered deal. This June, SpaceX priced the biggest US IPO on record at $135 a share (Nasdaq: SPCX). The stock bounced after. A public filing later showed a famous buyer picked up shares after the listing. That is the point of an IPO. The club is open. It is not a jackpot and it is not homework to skip the prospectus. We teach the picture. We do not pick a stock. Not financial advice. Educational and entertainment only.
