Thorns of Her Embrace

“Thorns of Her Embrace” was born as a song about temptation, pain, and resistance. It speaks of that kind of embrace which seems to offer shelter but inflicts wounds. It is about a seductive presence—at once sacred and profane—that promises relief, pleasure, and liberation, yet conceals thorns, chains, and poison beneath its beauty. This song is a dark journey into a conflicted soul. There is desire, there is weakness, there is an open wound. But there is also choice. The choice not to kneel, not to surrender, and to keep walking—even when alone, even when scarred, even while traversing one’s own hell. Musically, I wanted to create a heavy, gothic, and emotional atmosphere, evoking images of ruined chapels, bleeding candles, shadows, violins, dense guitars, and a sense of an internal ritual. Ultimately, “Thorns of Her Embrace” is not just about fleeing from someone. It is about reclaiming oneself. She leaves scars, but she does not take the soul. “I kiss the dark, not her embrace.”
