Türkiye’s First Serial HÜRJET Takes Flight | New Supersonic Trainer Enters Production

Türkiye’s first serial-production HÜRJET has completed its maiden flight, marking the transition of the indigenous advanced jet trainer from prototype development toward operational production for the Turkish Air Force. The aircraft flew for 18 minutes on August 30, 2026, accompanied by the first prototype. Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), HÜRJET is a single-engine, tandem-seat supersonic jet trainer designed for advanced pilot training, with potential light-combat and air-policing roles. The prototype fleet has already completed extensive flight testing, including supersonic operations.
