An initiative has been taken to launch a ‘National e-Health Platform’ in Bangladesh to make healthcare services easier, more modern, and better integrated.
BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman announced the initiative while chairing a meeting on an integrated information technology system for the healthcare sector. He directed that the platform initially be launched through pilot projects in several districts.
The Prime Minister emphasized the effective use of information technology to simplify access to healthcare for the general public. He also stressed the importance of securely storing patients’ health information and making it easily accessible to relevant doctors and healthcare institutions when needed.
He further instructed that the platform be secure, user-friendly, cost-effective, and sustainable in the long term. He also directed that the results of the pilot projects be properly evaluated before proceeding with the next phase of implementation.
