This fan game could be canon after all | Sonic Triple Trouble 16-Bit #1: Story Mode

Sonic Triple Trouble 16-Bit is a fan-made remake that takes place after Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Oddly, since Sonic Superstars was coming out or had been released, SEGA said Sonic Triple Trouble is canon, which doesn't fit neatly, to be honest. To fit this into the canon timeline, either Sonic Triple Trouble takes the same time as Sonic 3 & Knuckles or this fan game plot. Probably SEGA said it's canon because of Fang the Hunter. Back into this fan game, Sonic & Tails takes after Sonic 3 & Knuckles, while Knuckles takes place before Knuckles' episode of Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Insta-Shield is disabled by default, but fortunately it's enabled by the cheat code from the Sound Test.
