The story follows Parker (Mark Wahlberg), a coldly professional and expert thief. After an introductory racetrack heist goes disastrously sideways due to a ruthless double-cross by a crew member named Zen (Rosa Salazar) who leaves him for dead, Parker swears revenge. However, things get vastly more complicated when he is pulled into an even grander scheme involving a massive sunken treasure, a corrupt South American dictator, and the New York mob (The Outfit) led by Lozini. To pull off the ultimate multi-staged heist and get payback, Parker has to assemble a new crew of eccentric specialists—including actor-turned-thief Grofield—where loyalties are constantly tested and nobody plays fair.
