Asthram (2025) is a Tamil crime thriller starring Shaam as Inspector Akilan, who investigates a series of bizarre, ritualistic public suicides where victims stab themselves. While on medical leave, Akilan and rookie officer Sumanth discover that all victims were connected to a mysterious book titled 'Chess The Secret' and an ancient Japanese ritual, leading them to a psychiatrist and a wealthy businessman.
