Yeah this story didn't help lol We've got new technology that comes packed with ethical conundrums. Yeah so about the flying revolver rockets and wall-clinging roller blades? Couldn't they figure out how to keep the tech without the animal cruelty? I'm sure the nation that can use magical "waterways" that take them into the upper atmosphere can figure that out. Chasca's "gun" just has poor handling. But from the story we know it's already difficult to ride Qucusaurs anyway. Then we have a main villain plot about creating a sky fortress. But once again there was an ethical issue and reliance on some weird ancient device they didn't really understand. Hey you guys remember how in Lantern Rite 2 we had to get a big magic rock that provided natural anti-gravity? Ningguang used this thing conscience free to rebuild her giant mansion in the sky. And it can move on command too. And it can be fitted with Archon-fighting magic missiles on top. So you'd think they could just do the same thing instead of you know animal cruelty that can only produce a small fleet of hot air balloon platforms. Speaking of which Ningguang's Jade Chamber can be accessed from the ground via magical teleporting platform. Like a waypoint. So why did we need burning hot gas geysers? All in all while I did appreciate the Hoyoverse lore-consistent plot I'm not a fan of them making Natlan both a Zenless proxy yet so dumb that they can't make use of magic tech as easily as other nations have.
