His Hidden Agenda

When Qiao's company is taken over, Qiao Ran tries to steal the acquisition contract from Gu Huai to save her father's business, but gets caught. Gu Huai tells her she must make him happy if she wants the company back, which she refuses. Her childhood friend Ji Chen returns and proposes to her, making Gu Huai jealous. Qiao Ran feels hurt seeing Gu Huai close with another woman. When Qiao Ran tries to leave the city with Ji Chen and her father, Gu Huai stops them and reveals his true identity. Her father collapses from the shock and dies, asking Gu Huai to take care of his daughter. Overcome with grief, Qiao Ran tries to take her own life but is saved by Gu Huai, who begins to question if his actions were right.
