Sylvester Stallone broke his neck at 21, but couldn't afford to get it treated!

During an interview on Stick to Football on Disney+, the Rocky and Rambo star revealed that he suffered a serious neck injury while performing a bench press in a wrestler’s bridge position. “I think, ‘Oh, I just strained it a little bit.’ I couldn’t move my head,” Stallone recalled. He said he spent around five weeks walking around with a twisted towel supporting his neck, going about his daily routine because he couldn't afford treatment. The injury eventually healed through a process called autofusion, leaving his neck tilted forward by 17 degrees. Years later, while filming a fight scene with Steve Austin for The Expendables, doctors discovered the old injury when examining another neck problem. Stallone’s story is a stark reminder of the physical toll he's endured throughout his action-movie career.
