- T. Hawk is now changed to Suwako Moriya, the creator's favorite Touhou character.
- Much of the slowdown from previous revisions is finally fixed.
- Fixed human inputs making the CPU use dashes and certain moves.
- Attack animations during air chains are slightly sped up.
- Jump attacks now inflict medium and heavy hitstun on standing opponents. The pushback is also reduced to accomodate jump-ins.
- The game now randomizes which character's set of Arcade Ladders it chooses from.
- Fixed the name entry being out of screen boundaries in Mai's ending. This was an issue with Dhalsim's ending in unmodified MD SSF2.
- Numerous cosmetic changes, such as an expanded Sega logo.
- Holding A when starting Arcade Mode enables Survival Mode, where you fight an endless number of opponents while having persistent health. There's a chance of fighting Belva and Nightmare Dictator. A little bit of health refills upon winning each round. A stage can be selected with the Mode button.
- Player 2's character form is now randomized in Gameplay demos.
- Both players can hold either the A or Mode buttons together so music doesn't play during matches in Versus Mode.
- The computer can now perform air chains and cancel certain characters' normal moves into special moves.
- Switching characters between matches in Arcade Mode with Up+ABC (mirror match) or Down+ABC (defeated character) now accepts diagonal inputs.
- Holding X when starting Arcade Mode enables New Femme Fatale Conquest Mode, a new set of Arcade Ladders where you fight only the New Femme Fatales and Dictator.
- The barrels in the barrel bonus stage always break in one heavy hit or special move.
- The round start sequence in the bonus stages is shortened to be closer to the SNES version on 3 star speed.
- Holding Y when Arcade is selected enables Bonus Stage Practice where you can select a Bonus Stage based on the row of icons with the Mode button.
