It looked like an ordinary Chevrolet. Small. Simple. Almost harmless. But some Chevrolet Novas were hiding something very different under the hood. In the late 1960s, the Nova could be ordered with a powerful 396 big-block V8. Then performance dealers like Don Yenko took things even further, creating rare Nova muscle cars equipped with massive 427 V8 engines. Some of these cars were capable of incredible performance while still looking like relatively ordinary compact Chevrolets. And that's what made the Nova so dangerous. It didn't look like a monster.
